Best place to watch the Blue Angels airshow in Pensacola?

We're in Perdido Key, and can either go by boat or car. Heard the Jimmy Buffet hotel was a great place to watch it, but very crowded and no shade.
Thinking about taking the boat, but not sure where to go and anchor.

Ride the boat out to the bay. Or take a car out to fort pickens. Avoid the beachball area.
We are in PK also but will enjoy the quiet beaches here instead.

You would be hard pressed to get there by car at this point, and if you did, good luck finding parking. The casino beach parking lot (the main beach parking lot) was full at 5:45 this morning. Going by boat is definitely the way to go, but they have some fairly large exclusion zones that you cannot enter by boat.

We're on the beach in front of the Hilton. You're welcome to come by and hang with us. Look for the Krewe of Commotion flag (like in my sig) and loud music.

They practice the full show every Tues and Weds year round except the week of Christmas. I try to go to the base and watch every time I am in Pensacola.
