Sears has a notary in it. Used it back in July.

Slip them an extra $20 and they'll stamp it before the person signs.

The Missus is a notary and I've heard her tell family that she can't do things for them, but to go to their bank.

Per Google

quote:

You can check with your Secretary of State office for specific details. A Fair price will be about $25 – $40 for 1 to 2 Notarizations and an additional $5 – $10 per notarization thereafter. Fourth know the rules for Notarization in your state. Most of the time, the Notary is going to want to know two things.

I googled again and got this

quote:

How much does it cost? It costs $1.25 to have a document notarized. Notaries may charge no more than $1.25 for each signature.

Forgot, but bank will do it for free if you have account there.

any suggestions?

1) Search for "Metarie notaries" on Google.
2) Pick one.
3) Call said notary
4) Say, "I need to set up an appointment for next Saturday"
5) Meet notary next Saturday.

How the frick do you remember to breathe?

i did exactly that

then i thought it might be a good idea to get suggestions because I have never had anything notarized and thought people here with experience might point me in the direction of the best option as there are so many

also wanted to make sure I could get it done on a Saturday somewhere. Tough to call anyone at this time of day you know

maybe stop and think before you post like an a-hole

ETA: and it looks like my thread was a good idea as Sears and my bank did not come up on my google search, not to mention that I could probably avoid fees by doing it at my bank
