Check out OnShape. It's a new cloud based CAD system started by the founder and former CEO of SolidWorks. Cost is free.

I like and use Autodesk Inventor. Solidworks is another option but both are pretty expensive (unless you can get a student version).

Fusion 360 is really gaining steam in the design community. I'm not sure on pricing but I think it is cheaper than the ones I mentioned above.

I think students can get it for free if you know any. Not 100% sure about that though.
