Not to hijack a thread, but how do guys feel (2some or 3some) when they pair a single up with you? I don't know anyone that plays regularly in Houston so I always do this. 99% of the time it seems like the guys are cool and laid back as am I. Just always wondered if it's a huge burden when you show up with your buddies and they put a single with you?

I am the same way as far as playing as a single or pair (also in Houston). I have a couple of buddies that get furious when they add someone to our group, while I would rather have a full group since the old frickers in front won't slow us down as much. Plus, I have met some extremely cool people on the golf course, and made some business connections
ETA: We should play in Houston some time. I am going to try to get a round in next Saturday morning at Cypresswood and somewhere else Sunday morning.

I have only had one bad experience with being paired up. It was guy and step son. The dad just a had a heart attack and still had some serious anger problems, both sucked so it was really slow. They had zero golf etiquette and got mad at me for letting people play thru.

pretty much the main reason I like to do it. Never know who you will met.

Doesn't bother me at all. I encourage it. I hate being a twosome waiting behind a foursome, so I would rather one or 2 other people be paired with us. Golf courses need to do a better job of pairing people together to avoid staggering. There is nothing worse than being behind 2 twosomes. Just fricking pair up! When I go out as a single, I always try to join another group. Playing and drinking alone kind of sucks.
