When my ex and I decided to get divorced, the first thing I said was "we have x amount in equity. You can have it all and I'll pay x amount in child support. Or we can both get lawyers and give it all to them." She took the offer, we shared an attorney, paid about $700 total to get divorced and get along well today. Like the poster said earlier, be generous.

So instead of getting screwed by your ex and lawyers, you just got screwed by your ex. I guess that's better. You're still a poster child for why men should not get married though.

spoken like someone who thinks you can "win" in family court by fighting. like someone who thinks winning is losing two teeth in a fight where the other guy lost 4.

Winning is the kids never seeing you hurt their mom. winning is 15 years later having your ex stay with your parents when she visits their town. winning is having your ex come to your family reunion in your yard and visit with your family and your current SO, and nobody thinks anything about it. winning is when your current SO makes sure your ex sits by you at your mother's funeral. Winning is making it safe for the kids, even though they are all over 30.

if that is offensive to you, you can lick my mangina.

so your experience was different than 85% of all other mens divorces that didn't include her trying to take you for all you had and take your kids and make you pay for all of it.

She doesn't "take them". Custody is split half and half. Domicile is different. They have to stay somewhere

I know it is supposed to work a certain way, but in reality it hardly ever does.

It's almost impossible to get the judge/chancellor to apply things that really do matter such as emotional alienation, which is a huge problem.

It is very much stacked against the guys in most cases.

No, it's spoken like someone who noticed someone else who has folded in front of the feminine imperative. It is what it is.

That's great. Good for you. In other words, your ex would have been an immature bitch who would have blown up your family if you didn't give her what she wanted.

Meh. Like I said, it is what it is.

Maybe so he had PI footage of her with the guy for over a year he paid to put her through school she also had to pay him back 1/2 of that. 50/50 custody of the kids obviously not the norm. He had to give her like 20k which was half the equity in the house but with her having to pay him back 1/2 of her tuition he had to give her like 8
