best cell phone service for new orleans?

I've had it with Sprint and am going to switch services. Anyone have any suggestions as to the best plan/service with the best signal in New Orleans? Also, is it possible to switch providers but keep your same phone number?

Switch and keep your number: Yea and easy. They do it for you. Just don't cancel till after they switch it.

I have no problems with ATT other than the middle of my building on the 30th floor. Everywhere else I get great download speeds and no dropped calls.

My wife and daughter have ATT, I have Verizon. At the Endymion and Bacchus parades they could not call, text, or data. I could do all three with Verizon.
