Also, who wants the job? You have to kiss the rings of the preachers and otherwise appeal to a fairly unsavory electorate. Then, if you win, you have to work at city hall, a decrepit sad place, where you are taking a pay cut assuming you were a successful person.

Sidney Torres would rather keep partying in the Caribbean with Lenny Kravitz.

It is definitely part of the problem when the most appealing part of the job is the opportunity to steal. There very well may not be a leader for this city that wants to take on this challenge for reasons benefiting the city. But the current situation is the worst it has ever been.

addition by subtraction might be the best that can be done

Just curious....why are you so negative about this endevour?

You said you've permanently move out of Louisiana
You've never lived in Orleans Parish
You lived in Jefferson Parish and couldn't even recall an admitted pedophile..

What is your obsession with this LSU board, New Orleans and Louisiana?

Because I live in the real world. Recalls are ridiculously hard to pull off. Even against absurdly unpopular politicians.

To say it’s a “much easier path” to unseat a politician who just btfo every opponent in an election less than a year ago is pure delusion.

It’s like the q people who claimed trump losing to election was all part of the plan.

Latoya only got what? 48% on a very low turnout election? You have to look at how many people voted against her.

If there was a candidate who exited people Latoya would get blitz.

48% as an incumbent is weak AF.

I wish the people who filed the recall papers realized this.

Chris.....only 75,325 people of 300,000 went out and voted.

LaToya only got 48,750 votes of those 75,325 voters of over 300,000 possible voters.

You're right...that is weak as frick

That means 225,000 voters did even vote.

All they need is 58,000 signatures to recall her.....

It's a long shot but it's not impossible.

Probably more like 88000 signatures.

Teedy will sue and probably 30% of the signatures will be invalidated as they are in most recall efforts.

You could be right but aside from that......lets say she does sue and fight the recall effort.....who pays for that??

Can she use campaign funds or do the tax payers pay her legal fees? Who defends her? The city attorney or a 3rd party firm?

If Jeff Landry is on the other side she can hire an intern and win.

here is a link to the signature page of the petition (2nd page).

LINK

All signatures must be hand written and will be verified as registered voters of Orleans parish. If you want to sign, download and print the petition, sign on the second page and drop it off in September at one of the signature gathering events TBD

We are all excited to get this done but THE PROCESS MATTERS!

If you are going to print this and get your friends to sign it, you must do it the right way! Remember a registered voter can only sign once if we don't do this correctly, we will lose that voter.

1. DO NOT FILL IN the # Column for Signers (far left) or the pages _of _ (bottom right corner) these must be consecutive numbers therefore must be filled in be the Chairman.

2.You must make sure that ONLY voters registered in Orleans Parish hand sign the petition. Bad signatures will do more harm than good. You can register people at: LINK
They must have a valid driver's license with a NOLA address.

3. Voting ward and precinct can be found at: LINK / use the search by parish option. That is also a great way to make sure that they are REALLY registered!

4. The signature sheets must be returned to the Chairman of the petition. They are the custodians of the petition. We are currently working on those details.

5. Copy and paste the link below and print page 2~you will need one page for every 15 signatures.
