All the news stations seem to be spelling her name incorrectly. It is Katie Keogh. St. Josephs alum and LSU student.

Man that sucks. But trains are pretty slow, very big, have lights on the locomotive, and make lots of noise at crossings. These accidents are almost always avoidable.

I definitely don't disagree with this..

However, this location is at the end of a curve in the railroad where the sight of the train would probably not have been possible until shortly before hitting her.. The sound thing can't be explained away though. I lived basically 100 yards away from this during my time at Bama. I'd be lying if I said I never worried about something like this happening to somebody I knew.

It is so easy to avoid walking into a train. She was probably texting and drunk. I feel sorry for the train operator.
