Anyone recommend a company to rip out the old floors in the kitchen and another room attached to kitchen, and install some new tile - 500 to 700 sq ft

Will cost you 2.5-3k having someone do it or you can spend a weekend and 1k and do it yourself

Look up a tile and flooring company. The easiest thing is pick at tile at Lowes or Home Depot and have their contracting services take care of it.

I would not go this route. Everyone I know who has used the Lowe's or Home Depot contractors ended up unhappy.
Please understand, that is not hyperbole. Every single one that used Lowe's or Home Depot got shoddy work.

i am not doing that route period.
I not remodeling the whole kitchen... i am basically updating the flooring and getting granite counter tops.

Ive had customers take this route to try to save money on remodels and I always discourage this. It turns into a nightmare every time.
The two companies I've used for years
Leblanc Tile (225) 955-9932
Assured Flooring (225) 291-4800

Sell. You're going to sell the house. The house will be for sale.

For the record, we had Design Depot install around 2,100 square feet of hardwood at our house (two living rooms, dining room, halls, 4 bedrooms).
Very, very mixed reviews on these guys. I had an experience somewhere in the middle. The installers (Greg King was the guy they contracted with for installation) did a pretty damn good job of keeping it all straight/square considering we ran hardwood from one side of the house, all through the bedrooms, down the halls, etc. But I ended up with a lot of 'hollow' spots under the wood. And the owners are slimy for sure. I don't trust them as far as I could throw them.

All of your Tile/ Flooring companies have their own people to install. I would as said not go to Lowes/ Home Depot. Frankly their prices on flooring are not that great anyway. If they are great they are generally lower end builders grade stuff, which may be all you need but that's the reason its cheap.
Find a good Tile/ Flooring retail store and they will have their own installers. They will give you a quote for the flooring plus the labor to install.

Going to chime in with my response to every flooring thread on this website.
Just don't use wholesale tile.

i was thinking about going this route
we went to Wholesale flooring to look around. Since i am getting granite as well. I might just get a quote for flooring, granite, and labor.

Check out Grabince off airline, they sent my wife (no pics) to a few of their suppliers warehouses so she could pick out the exact slab we wanted, they did a great job on the install and I believe they do flooring as well.
