I'm looking for a guy to run new sewer line to the road. My old clay pipes are done and the quotes I've gotten seem high . Anyone know a guy that can get this done for a fair price? It's about 60' to the city line.

Around 3K. I had this done at my old house in Lafayette for about 1100, not quite as long of a run, but similar. Of course, this was a few years ago.

Seriously, your best bet is to get roto rooter out there. That's who I use. A good independent certified plumber is hard to come by.

Problem is that's probably a minimum charge to get an excavator and a couple of guys out to your house. A plumber has to make s buck.

You are looking at $550-$650 for 8 hours for an operator and excavator. Plus a plumber and helper at $700/day for the pair. Plus material plus permit plus overhead and mark up

And with all the work going on because of the flooding. Demand is high and supply is low so expect to pay more.

This is expensive. You might need an engineer to stamp a design depending on the city.

Roto Rooter has pretty poor reviews. I'd imagine someone knows "a guy" with some experience and an excavator that would do it. The pipe should slope down 1/4" per foot and there shouldn't be any right-angle (L) joints. I recently saw mini-excavators for rent on AAA for less than $300 per day. If all else fails and you can't break the bank, just go for the ole shovel!
