However, one might say, they both, at one time or another, have been in the erecting business.

Grew up with Ed Price's grand kids. Know the family well. They sold Ed Price to another company several years ago. I was glad to see they still kept the Ed Price name. Doubt that will be the case now.

What else would make a $3.4 million transaction for a building materials company in north Baton Rouge significant enough for an OT thread?

Damn. An Ed Price Building Materials thread. Certified non-Germans, for sure.

Pretty sure they were bought out by 84 Lumber but they might have bought it back a few years ago. John has built a good business and I've known him for many years. Old Baton Rouge High boy. Was in Ed Price yesterday, didn't have what I needed I called Holmes on Greenwll Springs and John answered the phone. He knows that business. Great guy.

John, is great guy, smart business man, and it is a great property with a rail line to bring rail cars of lumber in.
I wish nothing but success in this endeavor for him and his business.
Bailey bought out Ed Price a few years back and it just was never the same.
I know John and his staff will have this place running like a well oiled machine.

I saw that. My lumber guy told me about it. Major purchase for Holmes.
