What are the most immediate and noticeable differences, in your eyes, between pre-Katrina Baton Rouge and present-day Baton Rouge? Which version do you prefer?

The 2014 version of BR has a 4.1% unemployment rate.

Still no loop though.

Downtown's better now.
Town center
No more tinseltown or broadmore movie theaters
No more gattis at the north gate of campus
Nicer dorms
Chik-fil-a
More/better festivals
More apartments south of LSU
Movie business
More gentrification in spanish town
Section 8 in tigerland
More ghetto trash from new orleans
Women wear giant t-shirts and norts now instead of tennis skirts and tight blouses

For that last fact alone, 2004

Apparently 3 or 4 crackheads, one being an ignorant count, did believe it and Spike Lee felt the need to let them state their opinion about it for the whole world to see.

Before Katrina, Baton Rouge was lilly white and had no crime and great public schools according to many on this board.

No all of those things were already bad. The murders just got worse and crime started spreading into more affluent areas where it hadn't been before. Even though there was far less crime than in the early 90s, middle class white folks were feeling it more than they had before because it was spilling into their neghborhoods.
