Getting ready to update my bathrooms. Should I sub it out or hire a contractor. Any recommendations on tile layers, plumbers etc. would be appreciated. I live in se Baton Rouge.

Only sub it if you already have a good relationship with the subs you need. Plumbers and electricians are notoriously flaky because all the good ones are making buku money in the plants and those in residential have more work than they can possibly perform.

If this is your first rodeo, hire a reputable gc for way less headaches.

Also, remember, gc's get discounts on materials that you don't. That difference often is why you often end up not saving much money subbing it out yourself.

Difference is either hire a general contractor, or sub it out myself.

Are you updating them to gender-neutral bathrooms?

so you feel like a home builder that should be busy building homes and making real bank is needed for a bathroom update? I mean, really tile work, painting, new countertops usually installed from where bought, a plumber, what else do you think is needed?

I'm in the same situation on adding a room to my house. I'm leaning contractor just bc I feel like it will be harder to sub out. I think for a bathroom, I would try to sub it out yourself.

Tom Ashley with Expand Inc. You will not be disappointed. He does great work and is very client oriented.
