Bar recommendations in Bluebonnet/Jefferson area

Just need a place to go that isn't occupied with college kids - I survived about 20 minutes in Dirty Dogs back when they were open but the level of douchebaggery there was off the charts. I tried Cedarcrest Lounge and they closed down at 10pm on a Friday (wtf?). Mango's Daquiris in the shopping center at Bluebonnet/Jefferson upped the ante of Affliction shirts with chinstraps. Happy's on Coursey is pretty bad, but it's because they put the bartenders in lingerie to get the guys to drool so it attracts some pretty dumb individuals. Is there not a normal bar in this area that doesn't cater to white guys trying to act ghetto and their dumb bimbos that have bigger fake tits than pornstars? I just want a good cold beer - not kids asking me to buy drinks for their friends, no "DJ DUMBNUTZ" spinnin horrible crap, just a bar. A bar that I can prop up in a chair and have conversation with random people without having a sound system fit for the varsity theater in my ears.
Thanks
Thanks

There's an Applebee's off Airline, bro. Pretty hot bar scene.

The Jefferson.
Or The Cedarcrest.
Both upscale though, you might want to throw a jacket on.

Are you going solo? I'd recommend stopping at Churchills, Pluckers or J. Alexander's. Fleming's is sort of in the area.

not many unfortunately. Londoner is a little bit of a drive but free of this, Old New Orleans Bar as well, but a drive also. Have you tried The Jefferson or The Patio? Don't try Big Mike's, this was posted on their facebook

What about Who's Who at Bluebonnet and Airline. Cadillac Cafe. The bar at that motel on frontage road at Sherwood. Chimes. Jefferson Lounge on Floynell and Patio Lounge are best bets.

Yeah I forgot about listing Big Mikes - went there a few times and wasn't impressed. Looked like Latino night the last time I went about a year ago and gave up. No draft beer also - lame.

It's by the 7-11 on Jefferson/Floynell.
I'd head over to The Chimes or something.

If you're hanging out at Cedarcrest you won't stick out at Jefferson. I'm sure a few of them don't even have thumbs. Teeth either.
Hope you smoke.

I went to a daiquiri shop at bluebonnet and Jefferson last week, the bartender had her tit hanging out of her shirt, her boyfriend had just got his arse whipped, great place. Why not go down coursey to the vineyard or bourbon st daiquiris'

That's a negative - another one of those places that gets firefighters anxious every time their front door is opened?

I live in Jefferson Terrace and have stopped at the Jefferson a few times. There's a mixed crowd in there, mostly olds. They all know each other for the post part, but there's an occasional 30 year old straggler in there. It really could be great but needs some work. I've tried to get my buddies to roll in there numerous times, but after about an hour, they're always ready to roll out.

Here is a yelp review of the Cedarcrest:

Looking for a bar with large lotion dispeners out on the bar? Looking for a smothering smoke? Looking for a bartender doesn't want to be called babe? Looking to walk into silence and have the surly patrons stare you down?
Well head yourself over to the Cedarcrest. Just make sure you do it during the daylight. Bar opens gosh early, about 7 a.m. and closes around 9 p.m. It has an inherent sad feel to it.
T'wasnt a bad bar, just a bit creepy and sad, but I like those sorts of things. And smokey. And for the life us, why the heck the 32oz containers of lotion sitting on the counters. Why why why.
