I'm sure TX does, but I don't see how it applies here. The guy ran into his apartment and grabbed the murder weapon - will probably file 2nd degree murder and plea down to manslaughter.

Money buys great defense lawyers. Suspect will be portrayed as a good white kid. Jury will sympathize with defendant but still want some justice....less than 10 yrs. Probably less than 4 yrs served
