Good friend was a service manager for the Mercedes dealer here in town. He left and went to Lexus because the Mercedes were the biggest POS and he was sick of dealing with them. He told me numerous stories, said they would come off the trucks brand new leaking oil.
Former CFO had a GLK and it was always in the shop. He spent a fortune on it and hated it. I know one of the air bags in the suspension had to be replaced, the starter, had some other electrical issues, and there was more.
Do your homework on them before buying. I personally would avoid.

thanks everyone, my only experience has been with a 580sl, and my sister has had a couple of sedans, I notice that the latest one she has doesn't seem near the quality of the older ones, guess that pretty much everything these days
