It's the worst. Pulling it out or cutting only helps spread it, I believe.

But it's a good time to tackle it before summer sets in.

it's not typically one or the other, you can usually find both varieties

Either your yard is overrun with Mexicans or they can take care of problem. Either way, Mexicans.

Unless you need some blacktop.

Cover with straw.Plant azalias,nandenas,etc.

I got a place in my back like that and not very big/It's the only inclosed privacy outside.Laid stone and made a little patio.Some chairs.

Went according to the LSU agriculture page linked. Got some ortho Max southern lawn weed killer, or 2d, 4d as mentioned earlier. I'm impatient so I just finished spraying my back yard. Supposedly doesn't kill grass (we'll see) so bought a bag of Scott's southern lawn food with the southern weed and feed in it. If this doesn't work I'm going scorched earth rock garden. Front yard hasn't been affected thankfully so my mower will still serve a purpose.
