but the landscaper talked to me about that option prior to designing the new patio
The contractor I hired spoke with me about my potential issues prior to conducting any work. I said screw it and that I'll deal with it later if I have to

Lowes carries a corrugated french drain pipe that is bascially a pipe with a bunch of holes in it...wrapped inside a case that contains a bunch of packing peanuts. I had a similar problem at my house and I installed 3 of these inline (30' long). I then connected it to a regular 4" drain pipe and ran it about 100 feet out to a drainage canal. I rented a ditch witch from Home Depot to dig the trench for the pipe and I had this thing knocked out in about 3 hours doing it by myself. It works perfectly and you would never know it was under my grass.

Paid $2400 for 10 yds of 4000-grade concrete with fiber mesh. That price also includes them forming and finishing it. We were going to form it up ourselves but it was worth it to just get them to do it. Only cost me $200 more for them to form it. That $2400 also includes an additional $300 to Georgia buggy 10 yds to my backyard. The only way to access my yard is my driveway with a steep ditch on both sides and a truck would have destroyed it.

Should have come here sooner. Nothing worse than standing water.
