A buddy got an estimate for a 32x15 back porch off his house in Baton Rouge.

$115,000

That's roughly $215 a square foot. Was this outrageous? Is this what to expect?

Not knowing the impact to the existing structure and logistics I can't tell you if it's outrageous.

It's a back porch off a house. Will have to tie into the existing roofing. Will be elevated to meet the existing house level.

My buddy bought a new vehicle.

It cost $75,000.00.

That's about $15.00 per pound.

Is that outrageous?

Once you start dealing with having to tie into the existing roof it starts getting a lot more expensive

Had a contractor pull this shite on me. Then when his business declined he came back, told me he tried to gouge me, and offered to do the job for less. It was quite satisfying when I told him to GTFO of my property.

If you are willing to sit on the front porch you could get a check in the mail every month

Seems high....I just got an estimate for a 16x28 patio at $20.00 a foot and it'll be tied into existing roof...

Sounds like there's structural issues tying it into the existing house and bringing the elevation up to existing.... still seems high though
