quote:

Implicitly, Dent is saying: Don’t blame politicians, the decline of manufacturing, education or cheap foreign imports for the economic stagnation that has already begun and will continue for many years. Blame your parents and grandparents for losing interest in having children back in the Sixties.

This guy makes a great point.

why has blaming the baby boomers been the new norm lately?

guess another product of the "me" generation is to blame everyone else

I think the only other generation that has been so obsessed with blaming all the world's problems on a past generation was the boomers back in the 60's. I think the saying was "don't trust anyone over 30" or something along those lines. How ironic is it that now their getting the same treatment.

The true blame rests in the Federal Government and the Congress. Over the years they have spent with each years Social Security receipts, replacing those with IOU's.....

Now that the Boomer's are retiring and drawing Social Security, the funds contributed are not there. Combine fewer workers contributing less to Social Security and the Government still spending like "drunken Sailors", the deficit is going to explode...

No, it rests on the people who elected and continued to reelect these questionable politicians.

The Millenials have elected the most questionable, the one who has increased the deficit more than any other president combined.

Correct. The federal gov and congress only work because they're elected by the people, giving the people what they want.
