Auto dim fluid is no joke

Some a-hole hit my door mirror and broke it. I saw it. Cussed a bit. Drove home.

Apparently mirrors have a highly caustic fluid in them. It sinks into paint. I now have brown streaks going down the side of my car that look like dip spit.

Guess I'm heading to the body shop today.

I'd assume it's a hydraulic fluid for moving the mirrror

I thought the same. It's not. It's auto dim that goes between the silver backing and glass of the mirror. I didn't know such a thing existed until I googled "can't get this brown sit of my car" this morning and found that it's impossible to remove. Pretty much have to repaint.

I think it's something to do with the defroster. Either way it's nasty stuff.
