As has already been stated to some extent, the same people that want safer neighborhoods with greater access to amenities are now decrying the fact that the neighborhoods are getting safer and have more access to amenities. The same areas that they wanted to be more affluent 10 years ago are now becoming more affluent, but they're upset because the areas are losing their cultural identity (even though it's reverting back to its original cultural identity).

I guess there's only like 3 people on black people meet Austin

and that's not a necessary site. They're meeting just fine.

This thread is funny. Just yesterday I was helping my padnuh J-Moe who just so happens to be black, change the serpentine belt on his wifes BMW. He lives in a relatively new neighborhood in southeast Denham Springs. As I was sitting outside talking with him I noticed quite a few black families either kutside their homes or driving by. He saw I noticed this and said "yeah, we were one of the first black families in the neighborhood but some black arse realtor decided to use us as a way to attract more black families into our neighborhood. frick, we was trying to move away from all these (insert racial slur) now it just like we living back I tha hood)
I felt bad for ole boy because he was right. Everything looked nice but he knows it isn't going to stay that way for long.

This is not true with East Austin.

According to Wiki 8% of Austin is black which is still super high.

Looks like I won't be moving to Austin.

if you were in a large crowd that was 98% black, wouldn't you be counting the white people?

When I first moved to where I live in California I used to play a game of count the black people. We are less than 3% in this city....
