I haven't been to a catholic mass in a while and have been attending orthodox church. I attended mass with my immediate family this Christmas and after hearing all the news on the catholic church recently it just seemed to strange to me. I kept catching myself looking at the Catholic Church in a different light after all these sexual abuse scandals. For instance, when it came time for collections I couldn't help but think I wonder if they will be using this money to pay off their victims of abuse. Obviously they aren't and I know the church has a whole stands for good but it just wasn't the same this time. Anyone else have this feeling recently?

It's a horribly corrupt organization; should be shut down by the federal government.

Idk if every church does this but mine had us say this creed type prayer that seems like the Church’s answer to any question about scandals and stuff. It really made me question everything

Wait until you wake up enough to realize that religion isn’t necessary at all. Then you will be on the way to true freedom.

Doesn’t mean he needs to go to Catholic Church though. And I’m a Catholic, but I’m questioning whether I should stay with it or switch to another denomination

It's gotta come from somewhere. I mean, we're talking about ALOT of victims here.

It’s not much of an exaggeration to say that the Catholic Church is a machine, one of whose primary functions has been to ensure that children get raped and that the world doesn’t find out about it. This really is not an exaggeration.

Imagine if there were a Fortune 500 company that was raping and abusing children for its entire existence, and systematically concealing it? What would we have done to that company? And now, consider what hasn't happened to the Catholic Church.

It's all bullshite. Your orthodox church is a scam all the same.
