I know we are big on shut up and dribble and such but it seems to be more pertinent when an elite athlete speaks out against it.

Athletes like Djoker and Rodgers and Kyrie and DeChambeau NEED TO BE in TOP PHYSICAL CONDITION in order to maintain their physical advantages. Even then slightest chance that this vaccine could even SLIGHTLY limit their athletic prowess could be the difference between being the best or just middle of the pack (or middle of the pack to out of the pack).

We ALL KNOW young healthy people are at essentially NO RISK from Covid. We also know that the vaccine is now ONLY PERSONAL protection and NOT community protection. Professional Athletes are literally the definition of YOUNG HEALTHY PEOPLE.

I don’t think people have a problem with athletes voicing their opinions. It’s when they do it in a way that lectures the average person on how to live is when people hate it.

I know it’s all small chances but if someone like Djoker who has said he already had Covid has any ill effects from a vaccine that won’t do much help to him then his career takes a hit.

It’s literally a risk v reward deal. There really is no benefit health wise. The only incentive is fir social reasons (what he is dealing with now) being excluded bc he doesn’t have it.

Bruh hot take. I didn’t realize people were against the vaccine that’s interesting to think about!

I guess but for 99.9% of us our livelihoods aren’t impacted if something slightly limits our athletic prowess.

Pro Athletes are that 0.1%

Agreed. Young healthy people are at essentially no risk from the vaccine either.

That's not a reason enough to force vaccines I agree. Just wanted to provide more context.

There is risk to the vaccine. It is low but there is risk. There is also benefit to the contracting the virus and recovering for the young and healthy (Natural immunity). Natural immunity is proving to be more robust than the vaccine and we know the vaccine isn’t stopping infection.

Bump. With KD’s recent criticism of the NYC mayor and the public support behind them, the tide might be starting to shift! It’s crazy that Novak, Kyrie, Rodgers are a reason why.
