There is plenty of food capable of being grown now, but the distribution is off. Also, the countries that need the most food are the poorest and most uneducated so their crop growing is extremely inefficient.

The thing is, it isn't overpopulation that is leading to the trashing of our planet. It is our style of living.

We can sustain our level of population while not trashing our planet.

Truth.

I knew they'd be too chicken to keep the same ending in the movie.

Do you really think these people are starving because they literally ran out of room to plant crops?

I hope liberalism is always around to keep me entertained.

The problem is corruption. There is enough technology for every area of the world to create a prosperous and healthy economy utilizing the population and resources available, but corruption inhibits it. Even in this country, the hoarding of wealth through corrupt practices and crony corrupt politics games the system for many.

Modern agriculture sustains the world's population (and I know there are people starving). You quit farming on the scale we are, and the population could not be maintained.

Make everyone provide for themselves, and see how long we have billions of people on the planet.

Question is badly formed.

Depends on local circumstances.
With current science and engineering you can grow crops in subsaharan Africa.
If there is war between muslims and christians in a place with no remaining order, everything dies.

You will have a lot of people say we are fine, we can fit all of the world's population in the state of Texas. Land availability is not the issue. The issue is feeding everyone. You're not going to feed 6-7 billion plus without fossil fuels.

The poor and uneducated masses need to stop breeding. If yo can't support your offspring without NATO intervention then you don't need to have any and you deserve the consequences.
