I must have missed the "subtle" part.

To be honest, it sounds like you have self-esteem issues.

If you graduated from a state college, you're a little more average than you realize.

So, your 3 examples are about your hobbies. I assume you were average in school and average at your job since you didn't list those.

So ask yourself, how did/does it feel to be an average student? Do you always get straight A's, or do you have average intelligence.

Sounds like you need to find a gym that's 26.2 miles from a golf course... life complete.

You left a lot of stuff out that you could be great at. Especially more important things. Having 3 hobbies doesn't make you above average.

I hear you man. I admire people who don't feel the need to strive to make the most money or be the best in their field and instead play golf and work out all day. Sounds like the life.

"Average" is subjective. People may be happy being a garbage collector yet have a desire to be the best garbage collector there is.

I'm just a maintenance man at a major hospital, but my job matters. And, I decided when I took this job I was going to be the best one they had and three promotions have followed. Same thing when I was in sales. Went from never having sold anything to sales director in three years.

Success is how you handle the position you're in at a given time.

I disagree. You have to have money or at least somebody supporting you to have time to workout and play golf all day.

If you have a job then there isn't time for all that other stuff.

If he was incapable of settling, he wouldn't have gone to Louisiana Tech.
