Amazingly, when the radio signal was played backwards, the astromers could all hear "Paul is dead, Paul is dead"

Not a realistic fark. In the canon series of Star Wars, they say a star destroyer is the size of the entire city of NY.

Yep, in space size doesn't matter much....unlike in the bedroom.

This will only be relevant when they start picking up something like 1970's top 40 radio signals. Some Jefferson Airplane, Allman Bros., Steve Miller Band, Beatles...

If aliens start picking up the crap music of today they will doubt the existence of intelligent life on this planet.

Watch them pick up on some skrillix and then see us a threat.

Send them some jam band vibes so that they know we cool and laid back.

Im not physicist but isnt this relatively close compared to other exo planets they are looking at?

It's *very* close. Not close enough to visit but it is close enough that if there were a civilization there we could have a conversation with them.

Granted, the conversation would still be extremely slow, but a conversation could happen.

Why do we waste money on stuff like this?

I'm all for exploration but maybe lets concentrate of something a little more realistic.

Naw. Imperial class Star Destroyers were about 1.5km in length. Super Star Destroyers were over 19km. That's the one you're looking for

Edit: Just read through the posts and apparently I'm not the only Star Wars nerd here.

It was written in a blog. Poor journalism. More than likely an extreme solar flare, which is common with a red dwarf.

They are just saying, "Those gloves don't fit! You must acquit!
Your entertainment is totally awesome! Psych!
OJ is so guilty! Why didn't you just terminate him when he stepped out of the white bronco last year?"
