Arnold Schwarzenegger had called the “idiots” anti-masking and told Americans who are concerned about Covid-19 regulations violating their rights: “frick your freedom.”
The former Republican governor of California appeared Wednesday in a YouTube chat to urge people: “Here is a virus, it kills people and the only way to prevent it is to get vaccinated, get masks, keep social distance, wash your hands all “. time, and not just to think about “well, my freedom is a little disturbed here”. I've never seen anything to indicate this from him.
He was at most ever slightly right leaning - it may have just been a bit more accentuated being in California. I don't think I'd ever have considered him "anti establishment" to any appreciable degree, though.

before the atrocities began the Nazis were a popular ticket, Germany had just had their arse kicked, felt they got raped in the post war terms, economic depression, etc.

Well it remains clear which side operates just on emotions. I'm still waiting for the data that shows a community mask mandate slows the spread. I have researched it a lot and continue to find a complete lack of correlation at best, some cases where things get worse after mandates.
