BATON ROUGE - Deputies arrested a man for armed robbery after he led authorities on a car chase and attacked an officer Sunday.

Deputies arrested 27-year-old Tramaine Wells after he robbed a man of his phone and wallet at gunpoint and led officers on a dangerous chase through Baton Rouge.

quote:

During the struggle, Wells repeatedly punched the officer in the face before reaching for the officer's firearm. Officers were able to bring Wells under control with the use of tasers and force and handcuffed him.

Well this certainly hurts the Black Lives Matter theory of ... "If it were a black person they would be dead but a white person wouldn't" talk ...

You asking who does the perp speed off, or why do the police chase him?

Well, you know if they would have shot them it would have been racist, and the BR police dept. would have to go through the whole Alton Sterling bullshite all over again.

Ummmmmmm....just the opposite....more like "the cops didn't have to use lethal force to capture the bad guy."

Baton Rouge police and LSP criminal units are really good. Yet Gravy and the race baiters love to criticize them and act like they're leading public lynchings of innocent black children

I'll never understand why someone would try to steal a cell phone. It's probably the easiest thing to track.

Conceal carry permit could have saved us tax payers 10's of thousands of dollars. I've heard prison is about 30k a year per inmate.

Going for the gun also makes the entire "unarmed" argument much different.

Suppose for a moment you're the robber. You could be caught stealing an iPhone. Now you're getting chased, continue evading police, then attempt to grab the officers weapon. Suppose you're successful, and you get the gun. So what now - shoot him dead?

Congratulations. You've escalated from a slap on the wrist to the death penalty.

I think it is safe to assume here that the suspect (pictured above in original post) is not very smart.

Trade places with the guy who got his stuff stolen. "Guys let him go. He only held me at gun point over ~$700."
