Wondering whose employer gave them off or if anyone took PTO?

We’re closing the office at 11:30.

Please go stand out side and stare at the sun without protection so you can't see to post anymore

I might go outside and peak for a minute but this is not Christmas and we do not need the day off.

I worked last night. One of my supervisors text me at 5am letting me know he wasn’t coming in. Him and the family are heading to Bumfrick Arkansas to watch it. I told him have fun nerds.

You sure they didn’t just tell you that because they want a few hours without you around?

I know someone who paid for a hotel room a year ago. Now, it looks like you won't be able to see shite due to cloud cover.

2 incredibly dumb things about Eclipse:

1. All those people that paid $1,500 a night for an airbnb are barely going to experience it with complete cloud overcast. It'll just look dark and cloudy like a regular 7:30 PM cloudy day.

2. Looking at an eclipse is much safer than looking at a regular sun. If the sun is 95% covered, that means it's literally 20x safer to look during an eclipse than a regular sun since only 1/20th of sun will be exposed. It's not dangerous and certainly much much safer than looking at a regular sun.

I'm used to it. It's a total eclipse anytime I pull my dick out. It blocks all sunlight.

No. Company gave us all option to wfh today. I am one of few who came in. I’ve gotten a ton of shite done today. I will head outside around 1:30 to take a look but that is about it.

Yes we’re off today. We got the windows boarded up, several boxes of MRE’s, barrels of gas, two new generators, and our bags packed to go in case things get real rough.

I am because I took the kiddos to the path of totality so they could experience a once in a lifetime event. Clear skies right now but this afternoon has a chance of severe storms .

Oh well! We’ve been camping for three days now, making s’mores and doing other camp stuff and right now I’m sitting with my coffee enjoying the sounds of nature while they’re inside aggravating my wife. This is wonderful

1. I paid $700 for four nights camping. There were deals to be found, you just had to search for them.
2. Even if it is cloudy, my kids still had a blast camping.
3. If it’s cloudy, I’m no expert but I’d imagine that would amplify the darkness when it happens so it could actually be even cooler.
4. I’m sorry you’re working today and even more sorry that you’re a miserable douchbag.
