It takes a toll on your cash to go from Houston to Dallas?

It is pretty archaic. A few years back I was in Houston and had no cash in my car. Had to go online to pay.

I'm a sovereign citizen so those don't apply to me.

Hah! Suckers in Texas paying tolls with their smooth roads and well planned, maintained, and expanding public infrastructure.

Yep, I had to laugh at that one too. Lame, Houston. Get it together.

Ended up running one of these in Florida on the way to Disney without enough change. Threw in what we had and went on our way.

We have to pay for tolls in Dallas too... they just mail the bill to you if you don't have a toll tag. I'm still confused at OP's frustration.

There's no one taking cash at a toll station in Dallas. Or there's no change collector thing. I can't remember if there were people manning booths or not. Either way, silly to make you stop and it isn't clear to those if you don't have their tag if you can have the bill mailed or not.

NYC laughs at your petty toll problems.

PS I think it's even higher now.

I laughed at them too! They even had people at the booths. Ridiculous.

Isn't the Royal Gorge Bridge in CO over $20 per person just to walk across it (when it is open )?

ETA: Just looked it up, it is now $22
