Growing up in Louisiana, I thought everyone was loud, fun, and enjoyed being social.

Move out of state and people have to defend themselves as being an "introvert" and antisocial.

Which are you?

Extreme extrovert, but I love being alone.

If that makes sense. I flourish in social settings meaning I can talk to anyone about anything and have a smile on my face while doing it, but deep down prefer to just chill on my couch with my dog watching HBO.

I secretly can't stand most people.

My man....

The older I get, I honestly feel like most people are just stupid and I'd rather try to have a conversation with my dog

Introvert. Fwiw my MBTI is INTP. Being an introvert doesn't mean that you are antisocial. It just means that you need time alone to recharge and being around people is draining.

Sameses. It is so draining putting up with other people's needs.

Rest of the country calls that being drunk.

Also, this is probably bad, but drinking really makes me have fun with people more. Like, I won't go to a social function where I have to small talk a bunch of strangers unless there's booze (or its required for work).

I will get really bored, like yawning bored, talking to other people unless we're enjoying cocktails

Introvert all the way.

People annoy the shite out of me. Especially extroverts.

Actually, being outgoing and gregarious doesn't necessarily mean you're extroverted. Likewise, a more reserved person can still be an extrovert. These seemingly paradoxical presentations are not common, but they exist.

In reality - extroversion or introversion is based on how you gain/expend social energy. The extrovert draws energy from social interaction with others and it drains them to be alone (generally). Now, this isn't even true all the time - sometimes, a certain person or group can drain even an extrovert.

Likewise, all introverts don't eschew all social interaction - it's just that they have to expend energy to do so, so they are more choosey and tend to select folks they prefer or at least small groups, if they have a choice at all. Introverts recharge their social energy by being alone.

So, extroverts can even have anti-social traits and there is no guarantee they will all be good public speakers. Introverts can have excellent people skills and be excellent public speakers.

I generally hate people who are lazy, stupid, and don't have their shite together.

But I do enjoy hanging out with a select few friends.

I guess I'm just an old man.
