It's not good and it's not Christian to stereotype people, or cars, but I really do believe in Big Altima Energy. Probably because I've spent way too much time in Atlanta traffic, watching ratty arse Nissan Altimas barrelling through traffic in my rear view mirror and looking like they're about to take everybody out.

At it's core, I think that Nissan Altima drivers have less to lose and have given up caring about living in general, so therefore why not weave through traffic with bald tires going 95 miles per hour in the rain.

Another theory is that it's easier to get a loan for a Nissan and it's the go-to for people with bad credit scores, which gets back to the first point about not giving any more fricks in the first place.

Like the Charger(though I would argue the Altima’s a better car), it’s a car that depreciates very quickly. It’s also a common rental fleet car, so there are tons of them. This translates to affordability for a newer, relatively decent and relatively stylish used car. So low-income people flock to it.

There’s a correlation between low-income and “give a frick”, so…

My wife wanted an altima years ago and then we ended up getting her another vehicle down the road. I kept it drove it as a go to work vehicle for about 3 years. Money means a hell of a lot more to me than what other people think of me. I saved a bunch of cash up not buying that F250 and financing it for 10 years, but I didn't look macho doing it.

Same. my 2011 shitbox Altima had saved me a shite ton of $$$ in payments over the years that I’ve been able to invest instead. Change the oil every 5k and CVT every 30-50k and ya golden.

But then again, I ain’t compensating for anything.

I don’t see an abundance of Altimas where I live. I am also in the camp of having a sloppy jalopy as my daily driver. I was give an old beat up Subaru Outback as my daily driver. Lord knows we spend enough on the other two cars.

The women who recklessly drive Altimas with front end damage and the men who drive “leveled” trucks whose headlights blind oncoming drivers are both assholes.

Different races and genders. But both entitled, inconsiderate assholes.

Also I think the Altima’s with front end damage are responsible for some of the Camry dents. They may possibly be rival street gangs. What unites them with all other drivers is their mutual hatred for squatted pickup trucks and those Barbie Jeeps with the angry eye headlights.

I disagree with the Altima being better than a Charger

I feel like the Mustang has caused more accidents and injuries on camera than the Altima.

But the Altima does more sketchy shite when nobody is watching.

Probably so... But I don't care what people on the road think about me.

What should I drive? Now I am curious

Saw this last week and took a picture. 95mph and the front bumper flapping in the wind.

The altima is more of an I-10 bandit, doing either 85 or 45 with stuff falling off.

The mustang is either doing burnouts at Cars & Coffee or dragging down the twin span, like ludicrously dumb stuff.

You got that right. In their normal habitat, of the left lane, typical speed is in the 40 mph range. Once you turn your blinker on, to pass them in the right lane, they accelerate to your speed and weave over the center line, due to disrespectfulness of your working turn signal.

Considering the lack of maintenance and insurance on most Altimas…those things must be super well built to keep on ticking.

I bought my wife an Altima when our son was a toddler, so around 2003. It was actually pretty good car back then. Think she put something like 150k on it before she traded it in on Quest after our daughter was born.
