Are there any LAARNG officers here that have experience with branch transfers?

Looking for some information...not so much on the process, but what would be available if I considered it. Looking into EN options...

You need to get into touch with an Army Reserve recruiter for the process.
Find a Para/Line into the unit you want to go to first then get a letter of acceptance from the CO.
Request a Conditional Release.
You will have to fight hard for it but don't back down and eventually you'll get it.
Good luck brother.
ETA: Getting a Para/Line into the EN unit in the Reserves is the most important part. Houston has an EN unit. I think there's some in Mississippi. Lafayette has a training unit but I think they're getting cut. Baton Rouge has a training unit as well. Those would O1F slots, though.

Well short of finding the PARA/LIN for a unit, I'm still looking for general information. I'm a SIGO, and there is a lot of oppurtunity for us in LA (cause there are very few of us ).
As far as versitility in the Guard though, I think I would benefit from going into EN...

Call the State HQ & speak with one of the Personnel Officers or Warrant Officers.
