You buy land and let someone tell you what you can and can't build. You buy a crappy house built by a builder that doesn't give a shite other than getting your $ and rolling out. Your house looks just like every other one in the neighborhood/area.

Congrats betas

Don't move into a shitty arse Homeowner's Association neighborhood and you won't have that problem.

No but posting what you did on a message board looking for confirmation sure is. Congrats.

Neighborhood or not, (unfortunately) the government essentially dictates what you can and cannot do on the land that you own. The fact that you think this stipulation is somehow limited to neighborhood communities not only makes you the beta, but also a dumbass.

In a shitty neighborhood. In a nice one they are different. You must be talking about one of those spec neighborhoods and yes they are pretty blah.

I live in a neighborhood and will until my daughter is at least old enough to drive but every house here is custom and not cookie cutter shite.

Idk why all the down votes. I'm in a neighborhood.. And I only realized all this shite in retrospect. My compromise was she gets this house, and I get the next one...on a piece of land.

It's an odd thing to agree with for me. Men want land. Unless they're that lazy.

What if I don't want to live in the middle of nowhere?

I don't give a frick about having a bunch of land. Living out in the middle of BFE is not my style at all. I feel depressed just thinking about it tbh.
