Or are they just trying to seem concerned?

Covering their arse. So they can say they're not promoting reckless excessive drinking (even when they are)

It's definitely not a law, but I'm sure it's a mixture of trying to seem concerned, good PR, a way to deter litigation in the future from SJWs

There are guidelines for alcohol advertising. I don't know if that specific wording is required.

ETA: looks like it's a voluntary industry standard: LINK

You'll never actually see anyone drink the alcohol in a commercial either.

It was something I never really noticed until it was pointed out.

Nope. But since alcohol is a leading cause of american dealth, they want to seem interested in our wellbeing. Truth is they want us to buy that shite by the caseloads.

If by "leading" you mean "not top 10," you're right.

There was a Henieken commercial with Neil Patrick Harris that made light of this rule/standard/guideline. He talks about how refreshing the beer is, but he's not allowed to drink on camera. So he steps out of the frame and you hear glug, glug, glug, ahhhhh... He steps back on with an empty bottle and a smile on his face.

Here's another advertising law that you probably never noticed until pointed out:

Cigarette commercials are not allowed on TV

Cig ads haven't been on TV for at least 35 or 40 years. I'm not if liquor ads ever were.

I miss the old Schlitz Malt Liquor Bull commercials. Nothing taught responsible drinking like these did.

1.Heart disease/failure is the leading cause of death. Alcohol is a top 5 cause of heart issues.
2.alcohol related auto crashes kills 15-20% of us annually 3. Suicide is a top 5 killer here and alcohol is 25% of that.
Liquor plays a heavy role in the deaths of Americans. Of course your daddy won't break the shite down but the facts are there.

And moderate drinkers have a lower rate of heart disease (and other health issues) than non-drinkers. LINK

Its going to take more than two shallow articles to see the whole picture. Those links dont cross reference Show much. Here are 4 of your top 10.
HD
Diabetes
Accidents: auto and stupidity
Suiced
Check the alcohol related numbers of each.

I think there's a good bit of paranoia in this thread. Do they want us to purchase their product as much as possible. Hell yes. Are they ok with someone messing up while on their product, he'll no. Not every company is made up of assholes.

You're right, now that I think about it!

It's always people standing around, holding the drink and smiling at each other while dancing on a beach or something.
