Ever been to river ranch apartments? For a 1 bedroom it's 900+ with carpet and formica counter tops. The location is awesome tho.

The Broussard vs Youngsville rivalry is hilarious. There's absolutely no need for two mega parks that close to each other. Also hilarious that they couldn't name the new high school Youngsville High because the Broussard people are pissed off about it.

I couldn't agree more, if Broussard were smart they would have used that tax money to leverage new businesses with the I-49 expansion. Some hotels and dining options for when Youngsville hosts all those tournaments they don't have the resources to accommodate all the people that travel to them.

I've been, knew kids who lived there while going to UL so I've always figured it was pretty reasonable.

Yep. They could've done a lot to to generate more revenue without spending a buttload on a new park.

I guess they just figured with the I-49 expansion those companies were coming anyway to add more options to that little strip. I just think the better approach would have been to throw a couple of tax breaks out there to get the development rolling along now. I was impressed with St Julien and it's a top notch facility, but I don't like the move to one up when they could have simply made revenue off the backs of Youngsville's complex.

Let them spend the money on the parks and we'll get the additional tax revenue when the people that travel to these tournaments stay and eat in Lafayette

Yep, I don't see Youngsville adding hotels, but dining has increased ten-fold over the past year or so around the complex. Broussard could have set themselves up nice with some forethought. The only thing I can surmise is that they anticipate the businesses crawling to them and thought the new complex improved the town's profile for residential developments in the future.

Hotels are trashy, we don't need that in Youngsville.

Sugar Mill Pond is a great place. I think the apartment complex is called Waterview. It's in Youngsville

It's looking like 2020 will be the completion date.

Agreed, but the infrastructure will be in place for businesses to start developing in anticipation of it. The work they're doing in Broussard is basically catching up to the development that had taken place in the area the past 5-10 years, as well as fast-tracking what will be needed when I-49 is eventually expanded further South.
