anyone traveling through KMSY today?

Some big air traffic for Louis Armstrong Intl Airport. Plenty of airbus a321s, 757s. Some 767s and one 747. Pretty cool if you have nuthing else to do, go spot airplanes there. Has msy ever handled 747s besides air force one?

Yes big 747 cargo aircraft I use to fuel them. I would put on about 36000 gallons of fuel on them bad boys

yeah, plenty of cargo jets when i was down there in the early 2000s... i would think they did back in the 60's-70's when msy was a bustling airport too huh? they had directs to central america and shite back in that day...

Probably other charters.

Don't know of any regularly-scheduled 747 service.

If anyone is flying from there today, be sure to get your Super Bowl pin. LINK

I doubt it on the Europe flights. Like regulary scheduled no, but sure they have chartered every so often.

They have more concrete then they know what to do with. The private fbo's are extremely busy as well private jets parked on top of each other.

A lot of them were held at other locations and flown in empty this morning. Check the number of aircraft flying from BTR this morning to MSY and NEW

Doing logistics for an airline for larger than normal loads seems like a cool job.

re: anyone traveling through KMSY today?
Very stressful...I wouldn't want to do it...

These increased loads to/from MSY mean different sets of pilots, different planes on other routes, etc.

Trying to get them all back where they "normally" are in the most cost effective manner isn't easy.
