Anyone play Harrah's Saturday morning poker tourneys?

Currently play once a week at a small buy in ($15) "home" game. Thinking of trying out the big leagues at Harrah's weekly tourney. I know buy in is $100 plus ante and rake but any advice on play or Harrah's tourney proceedures?

So how does it work? $100 buy in, then what?

It's been several years since I played it. $130 buy in. It's your normal fast paced structure that is usually over within 5-6 hours. Setup just to get people in early and playing cash games after.

Can't say I've ever been to a casino when the sun was still up

odds are the blinds get big, fast and go up way too quickly and it's a shove fest by the 4th or 5th level

Never played at Harrah's, but I used to play once in a while at Boomtown on Wednesday nights. $35 buy-in ($30 to pot, $5 to house). Been quite a while since I've been out there so I'm not sure if they still have it, but just throwing it out there for you if you wanted to try a smaller buy-in first. When I played, you had to try to get there somewhat early to sign up because it was limited to 50 or 60 spots.

It is a re-entry. If you bust within first few levels (can't remember how many) then you can buy back in. Usually most of final table gets paid, depending on # of entrants.

Pretty sure it is a $100 buy in that goes to prize pool + $20 entry fee + $10 dealer toke that gets you extra chips. $30 does not go to the prize pool.

Everyone in this thread needs Jesus. Gambling is a sin the same as pole smoking.

Bump. Officially playing tomorrow morning.

I did about a month ago.
Too many people going all-in too often. The blinds go up quickly, which forces you to double-up or get eaten by the blinds. If you can catch a strong hand, you can cash in on that.

How many people play on average?

To the OP: Your home game tournament cannot prepare you for casino level competition.
You can do homework like studying, reading books, watching training videos, YouTube breakdowns, and twitch streams.
Ultimately you will need to play casino poker to develop, and that one is OK to learn in.
Lauberge in BR does have smaller buy-in tournaments also. It all depends on your bankroll and $.
Also, call your representative and tell them to make online poker legal and regulated so you can practice online.
