I think if you'd added this to the "posts the hottest" thread, you'd have wrapped that one up pdq.
I was in a tornado last year - direct hit by an F3 on the house. Even with wind going through the house, windows breaking, the sound of the roof going, etc., I never got nervous, just kept acting, doing what had to be done. Some for the next hour or so afterward, helping in the neighborhood. I think your brain just kind of knows to shut off the scared stuff when survival is at stake.
