My wife has a niece who has found a used RDX she is interested in and asked me for advice. It appears solid but I think it is about $1k overpriced. I see this plastered on their Autotrader ads:

I just wonder if they really hold the line or if they will negotiate. I am from the "if it is taxable it is negotiable" school. I would like to know about their stance so I can advise her on how to approach them. BTW based on the Carfax it has been on their lot 60 days but I don't know if they have lowered the price in that time.

Recently bought a used car from them. The no haggle price is a hard line. They have great customer service though.

Don't haggle for price. Haggle for features. If they won't to sell it badly enough, they will do something.

Says who?

What is the kbb.com private party price range? And how does that compare?

Do dealers even use KBB for anything?

Fact that you said “laffy” tells me you are about to get screwed.

No, they use NADA or Manheim Market Report.

They will not negotiate. Dealt with a Fabre dealership in BR.

That’s my relatives that own Acura and Infiniti in Lafayette.

Fabre automotive group is the same set of scumbags that own Acura BR.

Everything is negotiable. If you are dead set on your price and you make an offer and if they don't accept, walk.

The key here is she is working 5 12s right now at night so she doesn't have much time to shop and she has the insurance payoff so now the rental is on her so if she isn't willing to pay the price listed and they are no haggle then she is wasting her time. No need to waste her time just to walk if walking is a useless tactic, she just doesn't need to bother going in.

I appreciate those who confirmed they are truly no haggle, it may save her some time.

As for the taxable is negotiable when dealing with car dealerships outside certain circumstances it is true. You can't negotiate TTL but those aren't taxable.

How many days of rental is $1000?

It's it worth the time and hassle?

Ask for new tires and/oil changes and go with it

It’s no haggle price but when they come back with your quote it will be $1,500-2,000 more because they through in “mandatory addons”. Price isn’t what they advertise. This pisses me off.

I didn’t fall for it and made them take the extra charges off or I would have had my wife walk from deal.

Just go over the price on worksheet before signing.

The add ons are designed to make you so mad that you only focus on them and take your eye off the ball, so you feel like you win when they remove them but you are still paying full price for the car.
