We weren't due for another 1,000 year flood for 999.5 years.

ETA: (Yes I know that means chance in a given year not how many years between)

When did they recently get 18" of rain? I must've missed that one.

Over like 3 different events in maybe a two week period. 8 inches was the latest on Subday.

I just passed through there and water is up to the interstate all the way back to Welsh. Could tell because of darkness but a lot of buildings have water to the doors along the interstate.

I drove through the Evangeline Parish/Mamou area a bunch on Monday and many homes and roads were flooded.

Had to be terrible to flood in August, get things fixed up, then flood again. Then the rain today...
