curious to know what the bite looks like after 36 hours?

If you go to the dr within 48 hours of the initial bite, does that help prevent the bite from turning into something that is out of a horror movie?

i saw a buddy post on FB that his daughter may have been bit Tuesday night. They just noticed a dime size blistering looking bite... looks like a burn as of right now.

I have known two people that have been bit and one has some serious mutated looking scar and actually almost lost his leg. I dont know how long he waited to go to hospital though

I think I was a long time ago on the middle finger. It swelled up a lot and then drained. Don't know for sure if it was a BR or not.

Google it. It's really fricked up shite.

Pray that's not what bit you is all I can say.

The mere existence of brown recluses and my ignorance in proper identification of them versus harmless spiders has resulted in a kill every spider that comes in my zone approach. I am brutal and pitiless in my encounters with spiders.

I had what I thought was once. Turns out it was a staph infection. I have some gnarly pictures if you want to compare with what you might have.

I did a lot of research on recluse bites when I thought that's what it was. Turns out the necrotizing fascitis is not nearly as common as the internet wants you to believe.

I am on the tail end of a staph infection on my back. I got pics. You would never drink chocolate milk again if you saw them.

Bit on the arm years ago. It wasn't a huge disgusting wound, but it never would heal. I went to the dermatologist and he excised the whole area and sewed it up. No problemo, but I still have a scar.

Those motherfrickers are all over Nashville. Middle Tennessee is a hot bed for them.

I had one chilling in my bathtub once and I poured bleach on it and washed it down the drain

Have only had one friend bit by one and he went to the doc a couple days later, which they say is all you need, and it was fine. No disfigurement (on his knee). He said it hurt like absolute shite though because it was on his joint. Just radiated heat and pain.

About 50% of BR bites are dry.

Of the 'wet' bites, only about 25% contain enough toxin to cause necrosis.
