They have weekly adoption days at various places throughout the city. Found my dog at one of those.

Can't understand why people jump through hoops to "adopt" when there are free puppies in the paper and on craiglist weekly.

They are cute as hell as pups.

I bet their hair gets matted up though if you don't brush them often.

That's the only thing that's thrown me, I inquired about a dog and she sends me a fricking 5 page application. No thanks.

Me either.

I have a very healthy friendly and already halfway trained dog that I can't give away free and easy.

What hoops? Paying the $75 fee and getting a pup that already has most if not all of it's shots plus has already been spayed or neutered? That's not including the fact that you are getting a dog that doesn't parvo or some other shite.

I went on petfinder, searched boxer, found one close, sent an email, and picked her up the next day for $60.

If I knew I wouldn't end up on the news or the front page of the paper id just put " shooting this dog if nobody adopts her before next weekend" on the OT

I also got a fee month of heartworm pills for him.

What hoops? I guess you missed the 5 page app that was posted.

As for the parvo, you're wrong. My FIL got one and within a week it developed parvo and died after 300 bucks. Those shelters are like sale barns. They run all kinda shite through there and diseses are inevitable.

Sadly, my FIL brought his to my house overnight after he got it so now I can't (or wouldn't) bring a pup here that's hasn't had the 3 shot series and 16 or so week period to ensure vac. That shite stays in the soil for up to a year.

The shelter here is a vet clinic as well so the dogs are taken better care of I guess and mine was very simple. Took all of 30 minutes once I walked in.

Posted by BilJ Looking at doing so. Can anyone recommend a good agency in Baton Rouge? I'd like it to be a puppy.
rescue dogs are awesome. Don't fixate on the puppy thing they're a lot of trouble and a full grown dog is still a great pet. Got my lab about 7 years ago full grown. One of the best dogs I've ever had.
