I drink and smoke at home all the time with a good TV show or football game. The only people who will give you shite are those who are insecure with themselves or scared it's a symptom of some problem they have.
I don't advocate for blacking out though. That's probably something bigger issue at play.

I wouldn't say blackout drunk, but I basically did the same thing tonight. Had a sixer of tall boys while switching between Cal and PreSeason Football. I'm 39, have no desire to be out at a bar, and am safe/comfortable in my recliner. Oh...and have a 8:30am tee time in the morning. Goodnight, life is good!

Nothing wrong with knocking down a 12 pack or half bottle of Turkey while chilling on the couch with some sports or old HBO show like Sopranos or Boardwalk Empire. A few Xanax mixed in is even better.
Just don't make it a habit. Especially on week nights. That is how you lose your job, your chick, and your bros.
