Anyone Ever had a Stroke?

I did. Just got out out of rehab. I'm walking and moving everything. But I'm alive. It was ischemic and it's an interesting story if any docs or nurses are left on here. I type slow. I have holes in my memory. My left side is getting better.
Note this, though: I've been a neuro ICU nurse at St. Dom in jxn for 13 years. I not stupid.
Sometimes it's kinda sad to know exactly what is happening to you. You really can know too much. Yes I was given that fricking book in rehab. I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one on here....in like...forever. I've been here a long time.
OK, smartasses....GO! At least my spelling is better than the 42 yr old poor bastard. But you laugh at my shite, I got a very good excuse.
Also...it's going to take me a little longer to type.

What part of Brookhaven you live in, bud?
Good luck on your recovery.

Leading up to it, did you have troubles? Speaking or forming words? That happened to me at 27 when my thyroid went out, I was put on meds I shouldn't have been on in retrospect, and I thought I was going down.
Its a humbling feeling knowing what you want to say, 100% sober, and physically not able to form a word you want to say.

My dad had two and they were both very different. Both were caused by endocarditis.
The first time we were out of town and he called us up and told us he had spots on his arm and went to the hospital. By the time we were back, he had lost movement in the left side of his body. He was also delusional. I told him my cousin broke my glasses and he said "that is nice" and he thought my sister had diabeties.
The second time; it was just my dad and I at the house. He suddenly became extremely nauseous and could not sit up. He puked like 15 times because his eardrums were spinning out of control. He felt a little better and he drove to the hospital. He wouldn't let me. Looking back, that was a very bad mistake on my part and I'm greatful for nothing bad happening from that.

My head felt full....like pressure all the time. Two years of that.

Glad to see you are progressing well
But I'm like you......I wonder what kind of patient I'm going to be, knowing what I know.
Unless I'm retaining urine, I will resist getting a Foley catheter with every fiber of what's left of me.
You walking independently, or with cane/walker?
