I see Hank Williams Jr. is playing at the Gretna fest next Friday night. Any OT'ers ever been to it and have any tips? Been to Jazzfest before, was curious as to how this compares.

Yes, I have been the last 15 years or so. What do you want to know?

I've been a couple of years. I always have fun. You can't really compare it to Jazzfest, they are night and day. Getting drunk and laughing at how trashy people from the Wank are is pretty entertaining. Kid Rock will definitely bring a great crowd to people watch.

Kid Rock, Brett Michaels and Hank Jr. White trash people watching at it's finest. Worth the price of admission alone.

I went and saw hank 3 and David Allan Coe several years ago. It was a white trash good time.

It's a fun time. Cheap admission, free parking and good beer prices. I'm looking forward to seeing Hank Jr.

I saw Travis Tritt there maybe 7 or 8 years ago. I prefer it over jazz fest bc less crowded. It's obviously much smaller scale.

Is it best to bring chairs or just wander around? The FAQ's on the website are terrible. Any other do's and don'ts would be appreciated

First went in 2004, saw Foghat and Blue Oyster Cult. Cost $3. This year it's $20. Earlier posters are right, it's like going to the white trash zoo....

If you're coming from NOLA, I highly recommend taking the ferry from Canal St to Gretna. It's mini booze cruise....
