I play golf there. Plus, they have lots of trails for hiking and running and playground areas with swings and stuff for the kids. The L.A. Zoo and the Roy Rogers Museum is also there. Lots of picnic areas for families and the Griffith Observatory. Tons of stuff for everyone to do.

I've been on a few runs out there. The observatory is really nice and has been in tons of movies.

Wife and I spent a few days in LA as part of our honeymoon. We drove through the park one afternoon and wound up at the observatory. Spent an hour or so there until sundown. We went back the next night to hear a concert in the park and then went back to observatory for night views of the city and Hollywood sign. Really cool place inside the observatory, the big Tesla coil is sweet as well as the pendulum that tells the date/time.

As another poster mentioned, it's in tons of movies- has a bust of James Dean in the courtyard.

Went there last month. Best hiking easily available within the city (Much better than Runyon). It's a crazy perspective when you get way up there and see downtown LA in the distance in front of you, Hollywood, etc. You're basically overlooking the entire city.

Everyone knows about Rebel Without a Cause but they also filmed a great episode of the Wonder Years there

Been several times around Christmas for the lights and train the old timers set up. Kids really enjoy it.
