I have a deep fear of flying after having an extremely bad experience on a short flight from Jackson to Nashville. I've heard that turbulence is not what pilots worry about but it sure scares the shite out of me. Why don't they make planes like in this link, seems like a simple concept and could save a lot of lives? Landed at Reagan in DC about a year ago and I can say the approach and landing there made me personally thank the pilot as I got off. Any of y'all thank the pilots while exiting?

That seems like it'll be expense and really unnecessary considering how mind blowingly safe Westernized commercial air travel is.

Flying is safer definitely, but if i had to choose between dying in a car crash or airplane crash, i would probably choose car crash

They are working on a way to better detect turbulence to where most flights should be able to avoid it entirely

If I have to die traveling I want to die in a roll-away bed

All flowers and candy from here on out.

Flying is fun!

Except for the food, foot room, tsa, ......

I think about those folks that got hit over Ukraine a year or so ago. Have to believe some had a minute or two of being conscious on the way down.

Always, if they are available.

Look them straight in the eyes when I do so with the füt-esque serious look.

The design includes a storage space that holds passengers' luggage underneath the cabin, so there won't be any lost luggage during the flight if it has to detach.

Good to know passengers won't be inconvenienced by lost luggage.

Larry King told a story about a black airline pilot he knew back in the 1960s. He was one of the first black pilots and when he walked through the plane he could see many of the passengers were uncomfortable.

Sometimes for laughs he would walk through the plane saying, "Oh lawd! I'sa gon' has to fly dis big ole airsaplane and I'se afraid I cants be able to does it!"

Loss of cabin pressure at that altitude probably limited their consciousness to a few seconds at most.

All I can say about turbulence is that it would never be able to take down a commercial airliner. Regardless of size, I don't think a commercial flight has ever been taken down in the middle of the sky because of turbulence.

Sadly, the people on the germanwings flight that the copilot deliberately crashed were well aware of their fate.
