Wife and I moved. Got a new fridge. The store requested a 4 man crew. They show up with 2. It was in the delivery guys' notes that 4 men were requested but I guess the store was supposed to email. Absolutely insisted they couldn't rectify this today and they'll call back Monday to re schedule. Screw that. It needs to happen Monday if not today; don't call me to reschedule on Monday. Ugh.

Why not just let the 2 guys do their job?

1) I didn't want them to injure themselves. It's up a flight of stairs with a counter depth fridge.

2) I don't want damages to our home.

Would it not be easier to just go ahead and let the two guys, who are at your place, with your refrigerator, go ahead and deliver it?

What kind of refrigerator or house requires 4 men to unload?

Edit. Nevermind, I see your second post. Seems like 4 men would have more trouble getting around a refrigerator on stairs. Two guys and hand trucks should be able to handle it plenty easy without two extra guys to get in the way.

Your house, your fridge, your rules.

Seems like a lot to request a 4 man crew from Best Buy. I doubt they are going to want to take two guys from their normal delivery schedule, especially during a busy time of the year.

Why don't you just let them do their job. You are not the first person to live on the second floor.

Yes. I bought a TV from best buy and chose delivery because it was free and thought it would make things easier. Should have just taken it home that day myself.

A couple times they told me day of delivery that we'll have to push it back a week for some reason. The third reschedule was because they told me it had been delivered, but it wasn't (I took off work a couple hours and was waiting for it).

Finally got to me like a month after purchase. Won't be doing that again.

How in the world are 4 dudes supposed to fit on the same flight of stairs.

It's best to let the guys get it in while they're at your house (if you need it now like you stated).

Now you'll get the run around on how they can't send 4 guys out to your house 2-3 days later and you'll be screaming into a pillow.

Should have told them to keep the fricking thing.

They're not the only place that sells refrigerators.

Yeah, what I was thinking.

2 guys and a hand truck would be easier than 4 guys.

Guarantee that if 4 guys show up, 2 of them will end up standing around most of the time.

I once saw 2 little dudes haul a piano up a flight of stairs. There's no need for 4 guys to move a fridge.

But as the other guy said, your house your rules.

Terrible.

Last year I bought a refrigerator, washer and dryer. Set delivery date and window time.

Window time has come and gone, I go to Best Buy and ask them what happened and the manager calls to the store in Shreveport that the delivery drivers work out of and they say they were short on trucks. Thanks for letting me know. Reschedule.

Waiting, waiting, waiting. I call the store and she says "I cant get ahold of the delivery drivers". I fricking lost it.

I went back up to the store by my house and told Andy the manager that is was fricking 2016 and everyone has a phone glued to their hands. No excuse by the drivers that "they could not be gotten ahold of".

Reschedule.

They show up and the fricking doors are dented. They say I can take that one for a discount or keep it while a new one comes in.
I dont want a goddamn dented refrigerator, so I use it for 2 or 3 days while the new one comes in.

They come back and installed it and I will never ever give those fricks another dime of my money.

Bigger things than a fridge have been moved up a flight of stairs before.

Two + Dolly = New fridge

Ordered all my appliances from them. They give me a delivery time of 3-7. They show up at 9. I'm not living there so I am just hanging out being told they will be there soon. They are to come back the next day and install the appliances between 1-5, at 7:30 I give up calling. I walk in to BB the next day to cancel my washer and dryer order. Only to be told it shows delivered. A week goes by of them telling me they are going to refund me my money everyday. Finally I go to the store and demand my money. When they don't do it I call the cops, cops show up and they give me my money.

I bought a 4k tv for my new house, had them deliver it and setup because it was free as part of their sale. They beat me there coming home from work, and they tried to just drop it off, not even taking it out of the box.

Fortunately I was only a couple minutes behind them so I pinned their delivery truck in and then proceeded to go through 2 managers on the phone who first told me they weren't going to do it, then we're going to charge me for it because the person who rang it up at the store shouldn't have done so.

After about 30 minutes of wrangling they told the crew to leave, at which point they let them know they couldn't unless I moved my truck. After being told that truck wasn't going anywhere until the TV was installed. .... they installed it.

Their customer service frankly is shite, always has been.

Not sure why you need 4 guys to move a fridge. They'll show up 4 deep and 2 guys will end up doing the majority of the work while the other two stand around and watch.

Let me clarify. Their store put in the request for 4, not me, when I told them they had to go up to the 2nd floor. Those guys didn't seem confident they could do it. If they said no problem, I might have gone along with it. But the delivery guys that came certainly didn't inspire confidence. I let them come in and survey the situation and they went straight to the truck to call the service department. What am I supposed to do? Push them to do something they don't seem confident they can do?

Well, now, that's a little different than the way you laid things out in the OP.

You made it sound like you requested 4 guys and turned them away when only two showed up.
quote:

Requested a 4 man crew

At least that's the way I took it.
